Stone Gate’s Houston National Golf Club has Grand Opening Success
HOUSTON, October 9, 2004 –Stone Gate’s Houston National Golf Club is celebrating a new phase of development—introducing the new “3rd Nine,” the Stone Gate Grille and expanded pro shop. Nearly 400 golfers took advantage of Grand Opening weekend, where they played 27-holes of unlimited golf. Participants engaged in free giveaways, hole-in-one competitions, and enjoyed Bar-B-Que grilled on the patio.
Drawings were held throughout the weekend for: 1 free month of golf, 1 free month of player development lessons, free rounds of golf, and a 42” byd:sign Plasma TV.
Houston National Golf Course’s enhanced facility includes upgraded interior furnishings, expanded dining area, and installation of a commercial-sized kitchen capable of serving a full menu. Dining offerings are to include charbroiled hamburgers, custom-ordered pizzas, a variety of finger foods and salads, and banquet preparation for large group outings.
Stone Gate’s Houston National Golf Club has just been given the highest course rating (76.5) by the United States Golf Association (USGA) in their recently-published 2005 rankings, makings it the #1 golf course in Houston.
Houston National was designed by international golf-course architect, Robert von Hagge, designer of award–winning courses around the world. Among them are Torreon Golf Club, Arizona; Les Bordes, France; Isla Navidad, Mexico; Horai Country Club, Japan; Cinnamon Hill, Jamaica; and Pelican Marsh Country Club, Florida.
In recent expansions, the first series of 18-holes has been extended to include a total of 27 holes. It additionally boasts player development features, which include a an expanded driving range with hitting areas on both ends, practice pitching green, practice fairway bunkers, and practice putting green.
Houston National is located in the Land Tejas community of Stone Gate at 16500 Houston National Blvd. Take Highway 290 west past Highway 6. Exit at Barker–Cypress Road.
