Houston National Golf Club Celebrates Grand Opening


HOUSTON, September 25, 2004 – This weekend Stone Gate’s Houston National Golf Club is celebrating a new phase of development-----–the Grand Opening of its restaurant and bar and the new “3rd nine”. Residents and guest are invited to join in a full weekend of activities and promotions. The celebration will be fueled by full menu from the new “Canyon Café” restaurant and an outdoor Bar-B-Que.

Thru Sunday September 26th, Houston National Golf Club is offering a $69 Grand Opening Special, which includes unlimited golf, Houston National Golf Club hat, Titleist balls, practice balls, unlimited food and fountain drinks at the restaurant, and entry into a prize drawing.

Grand Opening festivities include raffles and giveaways all weekend long, including a giveaway of a 42” Plasma TV. Additional drawings consist of free monthly passes, rounds of golf for four, and golf lessons from the club professional. Participants can additionally test their golfing skills and win prizes in the Hole-In-One contests.

The enhanced facility includes upgraded interior furnishings, expanded dining area, and installation of a complete kitchen capable of serving a full menu. Dining offerings are to include charbroiled hamburgers, custom-ordered pizzas, a variety of finger foods and salads, and banquet preparation for large group outings.

Houston National Golf Course was recently recognized as the #1 ranked golf course in the Houston area, by the United States Golf Association (USGA), after being ranked #2 in Houston for 3 years.

Houston National was designed by international golf-course architect Robert von Hagge, designer of award–winning courses around the world. Among them are Torreon Golf Club, Arizona; Les Bordes, France; Isla Navidad, Mexico; Horai Country Club, Japan; Cinnamon Hill, Jamaica; and Pelican Marsh Country Club, Florida.

In recent expansions, the first series of 18-holes has been extended to include a total of 27 holes. It additionally boasts player development features, which include a driving range with hitting areas on both ends, practice pitching green, practice fairway bunkers, and practice putting green.

Houston National is located in the Land Tejas community of Stone Gate at 16500 Houston National Blvd. Take Highway 290 west past Highway 6. Exit at Barker–Cypress Road.
